“If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll end up somewhere else.” - Yogi Berra
Or, as I have recently asked myself, "In the New Economy, where is my career going?"
I heard it said recently that really "All jobs are temporary," which I think it's so true especialy in the volitale times and world in which we live.
Another is "Retirement is a myth. I may work less and take more vacations as I get older, but I'll never really retire." The babyboomers who have watched their retirement evaporate are realizing that they need to work longer and get creative in making money in the post retirement years.
Here in Michigan, as we watch the Automtove industry implode right before our eyes, hard lessons are being learned about jobs which were once thought as being "set for life."
But there is hope for a new and better way. The steps are these.
1. Finding meaning and purpose to your life.
2. Identifying the ideal job that suits your natural desires and talents.
3. Developing a career and job search marketing plan.
4. Taking action.
In this video, Dan Miller, Author of "48 Days to the Work You Love" explains this all in greater detail:
